ASEAN hosts English summer camp

The year of 2010 marks the 2 significant events in Vietnam: Vietnam assumed the rotating presidency of the ASEAN; and Vietnam is celebrating the 1000th anniversary of Hanoi.

As the ASEAN chairperson in 2010, Vietnam had strong cooperation with regional countries in setting out the priority objectives for ASEAN, which are promoting a community with solidarity, openness and beneficial development. Youth now becomes the core resource in building good relationships.

Following the success of SKY 2009, English Summer Camp SKY 2010 is organized while it is witnessed vigorous changes in the socio-economic development in Vietnam and ASEAN region.

This year, the camp is hold by The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in Hochiminh City and the International Youth Club (IYC), for teenagers throughout the country generally and Ho Chi Minh City particularly.

The main theme is Flora ASEAN, representing the diverse cultures, the multi ethnics, integration and development of the ASEAN community.

This camp is taking place in 10 days at three places: Binh Thuan Province, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia.

The SKY 2010’s program is designed entirely in English, divided into two sections in which the first section in Binh Thuan concluded last month.

The second section, to take place in Singapore and Malaysia from August 5 to 11, will include volunteering and community activities in Malaysia and tour around famous university’s campus in Singapore among others.

In these activities, each SKYer plays an important role as cultural ambassadors, introducing to international friends the “hidden charm” and the national identity of Vietnam.

Within 10 days, SKY 2010 is going to bring you an exciting journey to three countries (Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia), offers valuable experience.

SKY 2010 is a good opportunity for you to interact and discover many new things, providing you necessary skills for integration – construction – development process of young citizens in the ASEAN community and all over the world. Summer 2010 will become more meaningful, more useful and will be an unforgettable memory for all the campers of SKY 2010.
